Book: The Fusion Marketing Bible
Author: Lon Safko

Release Year: 2012

Book Summary
The book explains how to “fuse” marketing tools and tactics into a single and powerful strategy to tilt the competitive advantage to your favor.

Explains about traditional marketing, and combine it with social media and digital marketing to reach more customers within your budget.

My Thoughts
The book showed me a different side of marketing which I never knew about it before. I do have the very basic marketing knowledge, but it’s more of traditional marketing. Way before social media even come along. Social media wasn’t the in thing back then when I was still studying marketing. Thus I have no idea that fusing both traditional and social media marketing could create something new.

I borrowed this book from the local library, wanting to learn and improve on marketing for my business. This book showed me another perspective where I could market my retail and services for my customers.

Would I recommend this book? Definitely especially for those who are keen to start their own business. This book is definitely a must as it teaches you how to market yourself to the masses.

However, due to the magic that Ponyo uses, it created a imbalance in the world. It is then up to her and Sosuke to save the world and to fulfill her desire to be human where she gave up her powers in return.

My Thoughts
Although the movie was released about 9 years ago, and all I know was the theme song. I haven watch this movie till recently and I am sure there’s people out there like me. And since I will be visiting Japan and it’s Ghibili Museum, I decided to watch at least one movie from Ghibili Studio.

I love Ponyo when she’s still a goldfish. She’s cute during that form, but however when she was trying to transform herself, I didn’t like how she look. It doesn’t look like a human nor a fish, it’s some kind of weird creature to me. However, during her final human form, I find it likeable.

It’s a nice movie. More of a fantasy unrealistic animation with a nice written story plot. It is always not about powers to dominate the world. There’s always something much more worth to have than powers itself, and that’s what the movie taught me.

Will I recommend this movie? Yes, especially to Japanese fanatics. Anime or not, I’m sure they’ll enjoy this movie as much as I did.

Storyline
A story of resurrection, from the view of a non-believer. Clavius, a Roman Military Tribune, with his aide, Lucius, was given a task to solve a case of mystery of Yeshua. Following Yeshua’s followers, Clavius found himself witnessing unexplainable happening that changed his believe.

My Thoughts
Story about resurrection that I read from the bible made me want to watch it on film. And from a non-believer point of view, it change the whole story’s perspective. It showed me that it takes time and patience to convince a non-believer to accept Christ into their lives. This is what I see in this movie and it’s a good one.

The movie was well written, although the crucifixion was a fast and quick event which disappoint me in some form. I was hoping the crucifixion part could give more information like the bible.

Will I recommend this movie? Why not? It could be a way to spread the gospel in a form of movie. It can also be a teaching tool to young Christians about believing in Christ.

Director: Tom McGrath
Casts: Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, ViviAnn Yee, Eric Bell Jr. , David Soren

Storyline
The arrival of a new baby changed a family’s life upside down. Wearing a suit and carrying a suitcase, the boss baby arrived at Tim’s house in a taxi. Instantly, there’s sibling rivalry between them. With a mission on hand, the boss baby had to cooperate with his brother after his identity got discovered. Together as a team, they accomplished the mission that involves the battle between babies and puppies.

My Thoughts
The movie caught me by surprised. Like many movies and stories, they showed storks carrying babies and delivering them to their forever home. But this was different, the boss baby arrived in a taxi! It caught me off guard which made the movie a whole lot different.

Siblings rivalry is unavoidable. My elder sister probably feel upset and jealous when I arrived to this world. The movie depicted the rivalry as realistic as possible.  I love how they showed us how important family is. No matter what happened or how many siblings we have, family love us and always there when we needed them. It’s a good movie to watch with young children.

Would I recommend it? Yes, bring your kids along. They’ll enjoy the movie as much as I do.

Disney’s classic animation took to the big screen in a musical movie form. A young prince was cursed to be in a form of a beast till his true love comes. As the clock ticks, the rose petal falls, time is running out for the prince and his subjects in the castle. When Belle took her father’s place as prisoner, Beast’s heart opens when they spent the time together. As time pass, Beast found himself falling in love with Belle.

My Thoughts
I have never watch the animated version but I do love the theme song. The reason I watch this movie is due to Emma Watson. And I do love Disney’s movie so this movie is a must watch.

First of all, I am impressed at Disney’s attempt in making Beauty and the Beast a musical movie. I like how the portray the subjects, especially Mrs Chip and Lumiere. My favorite scene is where Beast were made to invite Belle for dinner by his subjects. Although unwilling, he listened to his subjects requests.

Before watching the movie, there’s a lot of discussions going on about the gay character, Le Fou. Honestly speaking, after watching the movie, I don’t see any obvious scene of promoting gay. It’s just a normal sing and dance session in a bar. I have no idea what’s all the fuss is about.

Will I recommend this movie? Definitely! It’s Disney, it’s Beauty and the Beast and it’s musical!

Six astronauts were on a mission to collect a sample from Mars for an experiment as proof of life existence on the Red Planet. However, things weren’t going as plan when the organism proves more intelligent than what they expected. Fighting for hope and a chance of survival, they had to come up with a decision fast before dire consequences that may be a threat to Earth.

My Thoughts
Honestly speaking, I got this ticket for free and prior to watching, I have no idea what the movie was about. All I know is that Ryan Reynolds is acting in it.

So here’s my honest opinion. It is a average movie in my opinion. But I’m quite awe about how astronauts work on the spaceship which the movie depicted quite nice and as real as they could. I would say it’s quite predictable as the movie move towards the ending. Sci-fi isn’t my thing as I’ve said previously on my other entry. But it’s still good to watch something out of my range of genre.

Will I recommend this movie? Nope, I believe there’s better sci-fi movie out there worth watching. But if you’re curious and like the kind of survival show, this is for you.

P.S. Don’t stay after the movie, is isn’t Marvel cos there’s no after credit.

Storyline
Newt Scamander, a young wizard from British is fond of magical creature. He made his way to America in a quest to Arizona. Carrying his suitcase full of magical creature, Newt found himself in an adventure he could never imagine himself to be in. Together with his new found friend, Tina, Queenie and Jacob, they are on a mission to save the wizarding and no-maj world.

My Thoughts
I’m a fan of the wizarding world written by J.K Rowling. Have been following all the Harry Potter series, both books and movies, this is definitely a must on my list.

I would say this is my most favorite movie among all that is related to Harry Potter. Reason being that it features a lot of magical creatures! I realised that I am more like Newt Scamander, animals fascinate me. So yes, this is my favorite movie. And I even have my favorite magical creature from this movie!

I love how J.K Rowling managed to write a story for the movie. The book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is just a list of magical creatures and descriptions of them. So there is no story plot to it. That is why I am amazed how J.K Rowling can write out such an amazing movie.

Will I recommend this movie? Yes! Definitely! If you are not a fan of Harry Potter, maybe give this a try and you might like the wizarding world. Who can say no to cute magical creature?
